Perinatal
Counselling

Welcome

I'm so glad you found your way here

If you’re seeking support during pregnancy, postpartum, or with fertility challenges, I’m here to help guide you through this time. I provide personalized and holistic mental health care for issues related to all stages of the reproductive cycle; from pre-pregnancy to menopause.

This encompasses issues such as:

My counselling practice is built on extensive experience and training in perinatal mental health, with an approach that is authentic, friendly, and warm.

HOW I CAN HELP
AS A PERINATAL THERAPIST

I want to help guide you back to a place where you feel more like yourself again

We’re often told that pregnancy and the postpartum period should be a time of pure joy. If you’re struggling, I want to reassure you that it’s more common than you think.

Many parents experience depression, anxiety, rage, intrusive thoughts, sensory overwhelm, and feelings of not being “good enough”. Up to 85% of new moms experience the “Baby Blues” and up 20% experience a mood disorder in pregnancy or postpartum.

My goal is to meet you where you are, offering a safe and nonjudgmental space to talk openly about what you’re feeling.

Counselling for Dads and Non-birthing partners

I provide perinatal counselling to all genders and warmly welcome dads and non-birthing partners.

Partners can also experience:

I believe that supporting all family members plays a crucial role in creating a healthier, more balanced family system.

I offer mental health support to individuals and couples who are pursuing fertility treatments, including those who may not have traditional avenues for reproduction due to relationship status or sexual orientation.

Whether you’re single by choice or part of a same-sex couple, I provide compassionate counselling to help navigate the emotional challenges that can arise during the fertility journey.

I offer Infertility grief counselling to help you cope with the emotional pain and uncertainty often experienced during fertility struggles. Difficulty conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to term can feel like a profound loss—whether it’s the loss of a dream of having a child, the loss of control over your body, or the disappointment of unsuccessful fertility treatments.

The grieving process may also be complicated by the ongoing nature of infertility, and repeated cycles of hope and disappointment. I’m here to help you find your way through.

IVF and IUI treatments are not only physically demanding but also emotionally taxing. The ups and downs of treatment cycles—combined with the pressure of time, hormone fluctuations, financial stress, and the desire to build a family—can lead to significant emotional challenges.

Counselling for IVF and IUI provides support for managing the emotional complexities of undergoing fertility treatments. I offer coping strategies, emotional validation, and guidance through the process.

No one can truly prepare you for becoming a new parent. The excitement of welcoming a baby is sometimes met by a bumpy transition into parenthood. This often brings a complex mix of emotions, exhaustion, and moments of self-doubt .The demands of caring for a newborn—coupled with sleep deprivation and the adjustment to new roles—can feel overwhelming.

Many new parents also face relationship strain, identity shifts, and the emotional toll of postpartum anxiety or depression or birth trauma. I provide gender inclusive supportive counselling to address these challenges.

The postpartum period can be a profound adjustment and feel pretty rocky at times. Many new parents experience postpartum depression (PPD) or postpartum anxiety, which can make it difficult to cope with the demands of caring for a newborn. You may feel persistent sadness, feelings of rage, constant worry about the baby’s health, feeling “on edge,” or have difficulty relaxing.

You may also be experiencing intrusive thoughts—unwanted, distressing thoughts about harm coming to the baby or oneself. These can be particularly hard to talk about, and I offer a safe space to talk these through. Together, we will work to build your emotional resilience, improve your self-care practices, and help you build a healthy relationship with yourself and your baby.

After a traumatic birth, it can be difficult to function due to the emotional impact of the experience. Birth trauma can result from physical complications during labor and delivery, medical interventions, emotional distress, or unforeseen outcomes, such as a difficult C-section, emergency procedures, or health issues with the baby.

You may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or feelings of self-blame and guilt. It might be hard to tell your birth story to others. In a safe and empathetic space, we can work together to help you feel more at peace in your body and with your birth experience.
